The Navigation Display Module is a plug in component of the HUD or HMD that ties into the navigation systems providing pilot guidance. Standard navigation displays will typically show waypoints and destinations, landing and orbital glide paths or approaches, and stellar features of interest. Some of the more advanced H&A modules may link into the navigation system directly to remove the need for a separate navigation display, but they are rarely as comprehensive or flexible. Some nav displays will offer a quick select option for local planets and stations, but any destination other than the few most common choices must be programmed in manually at a separate nav interface. Neural-net systems may bypass the need for a separate interface, and generally combine the nav system and display into a single module.
