The InfoTec Old Earth Republic Spec C (cargo) Heading and Attitude display is easily the most recognizable sight in the known galaxy to a star pilot, being installed on more ships across more systems than any other 5 systems combined. Despite being only marginally better than many built-in systems, it has been copied and licensed for hundreds of years due to its simplicity and ease of use. The adjustable color (from green to bright green), multiple programmable waypoints (two), and its ability to display all three coordinate systems make it useful enough to be installed on every new ship built in the greater alliance systems (unless you are willing to pay slightly more for something actually useable).
The simplicity does come at price, as the horizon and elevation are limited to a single static horizon and longitudinal display on the virtual gimbal. Going too far off of center in the solar or universal systems can result in the display being entirely out of view, and can result in confusion during aggressive maneuvering.
